The Mobility Program

The program is designed to take early-stage international Mobility startups to scale-up via a hands-on, structured accelerator using:

  • Sente's unique approach to building a business model, economic model and market entry plan in both Europe and the US

  • New Mobility Lab’s cross-industry community of startups and corporations to operationalize the digital transformation of transportation and mobility (the "New Mobility World")

  • An intense business development experience through a series of industry events in London, Paris, Las Vegas and Chicago, along with a US home at the Connectory in Chicago

This is Sente's twelfth program for international startups and 2nd annual program specifically for Mobility technologies.

It begins in Paris on October 2018 with an intense boot camp, and all teams will participate at Autonomy Paris that week. The program is virtual for weeks 2-5, and is in London for week 6. A limited number of participants will then be selected for a second phase in the US.

The US portion begins at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January 2018, followed by an intense business development sprint and series of events in Chicago at 1871 / the Connectory.

We are accepting applications now, and applicants will receive details over the coming weeks.

The program will be focused on early-stage companies in the following domains. Applicants should be post R&D stage (MVP ready or < 6 months away).

  • Connected Vehicles - software and hardware platforms / infotainment and related apps, connected vehicle services, connectivity and infrastructure solutions, HMI, vehicle interior, IoT and smart sensors, etc.

  • Autonomous Vehicles - advanced driver assistance systems, automated and autonomous driving technologies, automated parking

  • E-Mobility - battery technology, charging infrastructure, alternative energies, fleet management, new material sciences

  • Urban Mobility - smart city technologies such as intermodal transportation planning, intelligent traffic management, intelligent infrastructure

  • Mobility Services - vehicle sharing, ride sharing, parking services, contextual location-based services​

​The New Mobility program is highly structured and is tailored to address the key challenges international startups face, such as:

  • Achieving focus and cutting through the noise of the IoT landscape

  • Building a business model using the Lean Startup approach 

  • Creating a sales & marketing plan to have meaningful conversations with customers in the US

  • Estimating the required resources for market entry and scale up 

  • Finding a friendly ecosystem to test commercial hypothesis 

  • Getting access to growth funding and exit channels (e.g. IPO, acquisition) 

In Phase I:

  •  Companies will receive hands-on training and mentorship on the above topics in Paris (Week 1), London (Week 6) and virtually (Weeks 2-5)

  •  Companies will also have weekly homework assignments that are structured in a way to provide iterative progress on business plans, economics models, go-to-market plans and pitch decks that are investor-ready

  •  Accommodations and flights to Paris for one founder for Week 1 will be paid by Sente

  •  Accommodations in London for one founder for Week 6 will be paid by Sente (founder is responsible for flight cost)​

For the US portion (Phase II), the top 5 startups will have access to
the resources they need to scale up in the US, including:

  • Creation of a US entity 

  • ​Establishment of a US bank account 

  • US$50,000 in funding from Sente investors (+ option to invest a
    further $300,000​ as a follow-on round)

  • A 4-week intense business development experience and a Demo Day
     (flight and accommodation provided by Sente for one founder), with access
    to Sente's extensive network of industry contacts in the US. Includes exposure
    at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas

  • A US business address in Chicago (at the Connectory / 1871)

  • Access to office space in Chicago 

  • An additional 7 months of mentoring from the Sente team ​


In lieu of program fees, Sente’s investors will receive 8% equity in startups who are selected to Phase II. Those that are not selected to Phase II will not be required to give up equity or pay for program fees.
